RIP Alexander McQueen
Alexander McQueen Dies At Age 40

British fashion designer, Alexander McQueen, was found dead in his London home this morning (Feb 11, 2010). Although the cause of death has not been officially reported, news has been widely spread that he committed suicide due to the sadness of his mother’s passing on February 2, 2010.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of this creative genius. His work was beautifully unique, and his shows were true art. Today is the start of New York Fashion Week, and a devastating one at that. The whole fashion community is mourning the loss of this iconic designer. McQueen was scheduled to show his new collection in Paris on March 9th.
Rest in Peace Lee Alexander McQueen

HOLY SHOES!
The Perfect Additions to Your Valentine’s Day Outfit..
Haha just kidding… But, shoes have been on my mind today after discovering the most amazing pair of nude pumps (that I’ve been searching for), only to find that they were too small!! Omg. So sad. I stood in front of the mirror for 30 minutes trying to justify the pain haha. Oh well. Here’s some eye candy for you while I go back into mourning.
How incredibly intimidating are these boots?? The editorial, “A Landing Not Totally Under Control,” was shot by Urivaldo Lopes. The boots are from Parisian fetish boutique, Phylea.

And don’t even get me started on Alexander McQueen’s S/S 2010 Ad…
It’s so amazing it makes my eyes burn.
Remember when Gaga wore McQueen shoes in her Bad Romance video here?

So we took a little break from makeup today, but it was well worth it
Alexander McQueen at Paris Fashion Week

The Makeup, The Hair, The Shoes!
Last night in Paris, Alexander McQueen debuted his Spring/Summer 2010 collection. He showed a live broadcast of the show on his website and it was amazing! The models were made to look like reptiles, aquatic creatures and aliens as the show progressed in an almost evolutionary way. The clothes were incredible, the makeup was amazing, the hair was breath taking and the shoes were out of this world!!

The makeup started out very natural and moved into the extreme by the end of the show. Makeup artists even added prosthetic pieces on the models to give them that un-worldly, creature-like feel. The eyebrows were bleached (very popular this season) to make them look invisible, and the models faces were painted with a shimmery, almost metallic-like foundation.
The hair at this show was insane! It ranged from intricate woven braids to enormous wings at the back of the head.

Don’t even get me started on the shoes!!
I can’t believe not one model fell over in these 10 inch high platforms. They pretty much stole the show. I’ve never seen anything like it, and while I wouldn’t wear them out, I think that they are incredibly unique and kind of amazing.
